About any suggestions for activities in Tucson for an 8-month old

Any suggestions for activities in Tucson for an 8-month old?
I am traveling with my young son to Tucson in March to visit family for a few days. We have a few days to ourselves and were looking for other things to do. We'll be at the pool (if it's warm enough) and already have tickets to Spring Training baseball. Any other suggestions?

There's lots of fun things to do in the Tucson area! How about some of these? Are you interested in planes and space? Check out the Pima Air and Space Museum! As one of the largest air and space museums in the world, and the largest non-government funded aviation museum, you'll see more than 275 aircraft and spacecraft including many of the most historically significant and technically advanced craft ever produced, both from the United States and throughout the world. 6000 E. Valencia Rd., Tucson 520-574-0462 http://www.pimaair.org/ How about visiting a historical landmark? Visit the world-famous site of the 1881 Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in historic Tombstone. Daily live shootout reenactments with Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday. Life-sized animated figures of the gunfighters. Five historic museum displays. See Doc Holliday's room and fascinating photos of 1880s Tombstone and the Apache Geronimo. 308 E. Allen St., Tombstone, AZ 800-518-1566 http://www.ok-corral.com You can't go wrong with a visit to the zoo! At the Reid Park Zoo, you can travel from South American rain forests to African grasslands in one day. Over 500 exotic animals from different continents in naturalistic habitats. Conservation, recreation and education for the entire family. 1100 S. Randolph Way, Tucson 520-791-5378 http://www.tucsonzoo.org Regardless of which attractions you choose to visit, be sure to check out the Tucson Attractions Passport. For only $15, you can get 2-for-1 offers plus other great discounts. You can purchase your Passpart at the Tucson Visitor Center or at one of several Tucscon locations. For more information about the Passport, check out: http://www.visittucson.org/visitor/attractions/passport/ Have a great time in Tucson! It's a beautiful city and you're sure to have plenty of fun.
Answer 2 :
You posted your question in San Francisco by mistake.
Answer 3 :
I lived in Tucson for over 20 years and raised two kids there. Eight months old is a little young, but here are a few ideas he might enjoy anyway. Reid Park and the Reid Park Zoo. If you're from a large city the zoo in Tucson is not really large or impressive, but it's nice. These days they have enough shade along the walkways for the little ones and the Tigers are beautiful. When my kids were little they could spend an hour just watching the otters playing. As soon as you leave the zoo, there's a nice park you're in the middle of. There's a pond with paddle boats and a lot of ducks you can feed and just have a lazy day. March weather there will be nice with just a sweater --if that. The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is great for adults and kids of all ages. It's basically a zoo of desert animals and a museum with some cool displays on geology in the area. If you get a chance to see one of the talks about snakes in the area or be there on a busier day when the docents have some of the animals you can touch out it's really fun. Make the time to go to that talk or see all the fun touchables. Also, the food is decent at the small restrauntant to the left of the entrance. Warning! Do not be taken in by that taxidermy museum of wildlife that's on the way to the desert museum. That is NOT what you want to go to. Drive right on past it to the Desert Museum. If you do any big shopping days I'd suggest Park Mall since there's a nice play area where he can play with some really little kids and you can sit and take a break. I can't think of a lot else for a child that small. There are some other things you might like and your child might sleep through --the Center for Creative Photography at UA campus. They always have something interesting going on there. If the UA women's softball team is playing then it's worth going. The games are fast-moving and exciting. My kids always loved watching that --but they were a little older. When he gets a bit older I could suggest some great hikes where you can look back over the city at the top --like Pontatoc Ridge and a few hikes up Wasson Peak. I guess if he's still small enough for you to carry him in a kid-pack this could still be fun. You'll be there at a time of year that's not too bad weather-wise. I hope some of this was helpful. Take care, Cyndy

About traveling from Phoenix area to Tucson which route is more scenic

Traveling from Phoenix area to Tucson which route is more scenic?
Going to the Biosphere north of Tucson in Oracle but I'd like to know which route is more scenic. My options are I-10, 60 to the 79, 60 to 177 to 77, or 60 to 77. And maybe some places to stop by on the way.
Phoenix - 4 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
I really don't think that it makes much of a difference which route. Pick one going and another coming home.
Answer 2 :
Gosh... this Q brings back such fond memories.Sitting in a Coffee shop outside of Seville Spain, I can only dream of the 12 years I spent travelling that same route on a Harley. My mind is a bit foggy on the route numbers but here is what I can tell you - don't take I-10.
Answer 3 :
I would take I-10. Easiest and safest route.
Answer 4 :
I would take 60 to 79 for the fastest. If you have a lot of time take 60 to 177,it is more senic and a better change of scenery, desert to mountains and back to desert.

Answer 1 :
las vegas
Answer 2 :
the swine flu isnt as bad as the news made it out to be, you can travel any where you want!
Answer 3 :
Texas is the best choice, you'll be safest. Mexico might be better, but who knows.
Answer 4 :
Don't worry about it, the Swine Flu isn't even a big deal anymore.
Answer 5 :
Las Vegas :)
Answer 6 :
I've heard that pigs may fly, but I don't know which routes have a regular service.
Answer 7 :
Only if you don't have it.......you are fine.......just be cautious:)
Answer 8 :
The only reason people are worrying about the swine flu is that it is an unknown to us, and people are only afraid that it will come back and kill us all. It is just the media that is hyping it all up. I've been to NY twice in the past 2 weeks and I am as healthy as humanly possible
Answer 9 :
my husband travels all over the US...he hasn't gotten sick and neither has anyone else he's come into contact with. (most of the US military...)
Answer 10 :
Go where u want swine flu isnt as big as a deal anymore but if u still wanna stay safe u should bring hand santizer stay away from ppl who look sick or r coughing or snezzing u should b fine go where u think is best and have fun =]
Answer 11 :
don't worry about it, i think you should travel to Las Vegas
Answer 12 :
Don't worry about it, everything on the news about it just exaggerated it so they could get hits or something. Be free and do whatever, it won't hurt you! :) But still, if you're still afraid of the Swine Flu, wash your hands every day, don't bite your nails, don't pick your nose, don't put your fingers in your mouth, don't put your fingers in anyone else's mouth or nose in that case... and carry hand sanitizer and hand lotion with you at all times. Enjoy your trip!
Answer 13 :
go to las vegas. swine flu is getting pretty crazy in ny.

About how much would it cost to travel to Tokyo from Tucson

How much would it cost to travel to Tokyo from Tucson?
I really wanna go to Tokyo during my Thanksgiving break or Christmas break from school. Because I really wanna go see the places where Nintendo is, Anime shops and everything else video game and anime. I heard it is a really neat and clean place, but crowded. How much would a plane ticket cost these days to travel to Tokyo, Japan from Tucson, Arizona for like a week or two vacation? I so badly wanna goooo!!!!! And I can bring so many awesome things from there!! Also if I were to go, in what specific part of Tokyo or Japan, are the Nintend/Anime stuff located in those part of town?
Japan - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Airfare : $1,500ish. Another $2kish for two week stay. If you're under 18, it's not going to happen.
Answer 2 :
Akihabara in Tokyo, you should go. The air tickets costs $1000 or more. And you should have more than $200 for each day to eat, and to sleep , without traveling or enjoying. Nintendo is located in Kyoto, Kyoto is about 2hour by super express from Tokyo
Answer 3 :
Air fare: You need $1000-1500 if you are departing from US Hotel: Usually, you need $100 per night if you want to stay at a hotel. If you want to save money, you need to stay at a hostel which will cost $30-50 per night. If you want to stay at a luxury hotel, you need $200-300 or more. Food, transportation and others: You need $50-100 or so per day. If you want to enjoy shopping, you need more. So you need $100 for hotel and $75 for others per day. If you want to stay in Japan for 2 weeks, the total cost will be $2450. Nintendo is located in Kyoto. So you must take a domestic flight or trains to go to Kyoto. If you visit Tokyo, you have Akihabara, the town or anime and games. And Square Enix. http://www.square-enix.co.jp/showcase/eng/index.html

Want to travel from Tucson to denver?
which airlines the best please. I have no idea about America it is my first visit Thanks
Other - United States - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Go to priceline.com. They have good deals. I have used them to travel from California to the Midwest. Usually Northwest has good prices, and they always seem to route me through Denver.
Answer 2 :
Try Southwest airlines. They have the cheapest deals.
Answer 3 :
First of all i do love to travel and do go thru denver international alot. First try expedia.com to get the best fares, but those fares don't include southwest airlines. You have to book directly thru southwest for those flights, and SW does offer non stops to Denver. But, keep in mind, SW does not have assigned seating, you will have to get a boarding pass and how soon you get the pass will determine your boarding priority. If you are traveling alone, its usually not a problem, but you could get a middle seat. If you are traveling with others and don't get the A or B boarding passes, you could have to sit separately, depending on the flight load. When I fly, I prefer an aisle seat, so I rarely use SW for that reason. Try Frontier and United, they like SW do offer non-stops into Denver, but they will have assigned seating. I rarely fly United, but with Frontier, you have three classes to which you purchase tickets. The most economical class doesn't allow pre-assigned seats, so if you pay a little bit more you do get an assigned seat at time of booking from which you can pick from a seat map. Otherwise I think its assigned the day of your flight, but not 100% sure. American will route you thru either Dallas or Chicago, both of which are very busy airports, as well as being a bit out of the way for this route. Also, you have to take into consideration the number of bags you will check. SW doesn't charge for the first two bags, but you have to watch your weight limits. Other airlines do charge for even the first bag, which I think is ludicrous. Look into the new early bird check-in at Southwest. It may improve your chances of getting the A or B boarding passes. Again, as it stands you can print your boarding pass 24 hours before the flight, but you have to remember to do it! I cannot comment on priceline, don't use it. Hope you have a great time traveling the U.S.

There are many fine online discount travel services to choose from for your trip. The top ones are: Travelocity.com, Expedia.com, Orbitz.com, Hotels.com and Priceline.com. The strong competition fuels great deals you can find with a little research. I have used Travelocity with great success. You can run different scenarios changing times and dates to get the best deals. It is relatively easy to do and a lot of fun. You can also try other online travel services to ensure you are getting the best deal. Best, Chuck

You could bus it to Chicago and maybe get a cheaper flight to AZ from there.
Answer 3 :
I would definitely try flying from Milwaukee - more options. If you are super-sensitive on price, maybe a drive to Chicago - they have cheaper flights. A long haul, I know. Your call.
Answer 4 :
if sun country flies outta there then i bet that would work out best for you........cheapest in the twin cities here!!
Answer 5 :
I get my best tickets off Yahoo Travel and Cheap Tickets then I also look at Hot wire I also tend to look for fares only a week or two out To get to Tucson you may want to try Phoenix by way of Milwaukee, rent a car and drive down So find a package deal to PHX even if you get a hotel room and don't use it you will save on the getting in at the Tuscon airport the car will a great deal.
